The management of Sunshine Queens football club has written a protest letter to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) against the Rivers Angels Football Club for fielding ineligible players in a midweek AITEO Cup quarter final match played in Lafia City Stadium, Nassarawa State.

The protest letter reads: “It is with displeasure we write this piece to bring to your notice the crime committed by Rivers Angels football club against Sunshine Queens FC in an AITEO CUP Quarter final tie at the Lafia city stadium, played on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

It was surprising to see a reputable club like Rivers Angels fielding two players who were ineligible to play the Aiteo cup. (Alice Ogebe & Yetunde Adeboyejo )

The said players were not in the country when the Aiteo cup kicked off at the state level, both never played at the state finals.

We as a team as well as other female football stakeholders urge authorities to look into how the two players were registered and who issued their licenses.

We have on record the day and month Yetunde Adeboyejo departed Nigeria for Europe same with Alice.

Be informed that the duo of Alaba Jonathan and Joy Bokiri left the shores of the country when the Aiteo cup kicked off, even now that they’ve returned they were never featured in Aiteo cup matches.

We need know why Rivers Angels flouted the rules

There are penalties if ineligible players are fielded in football competitions.

We strongly believe in the capability of the NFF in investigating our claims and thus delivering the much anticipated Justice that we seek. Justice delayed is justice denied.”
