Sunshine Queens will today kick off the 2023/24 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) campaign against Bayelsa Queens at the Ondo State Sports complex, Akure.

Recalled, that Sunshine Queens lost 0-3 to Bayelsa Queens in their last visit to the state two seasons ago.

However, players and coach of the Sunshine Queens have said they are ready to pay Bayelsa Queens back in their own coins.

They said they are well prepared for the game, and expressed confidence that they will come out victorious in the encounter against the 2021/22 champions of the women league.

The team’s media confirmed that the camp of the Akure Landladies is bubbling and players are in high spirits to get the job done.

Some players that spoke with the team’s media said if given the opportunity to feature in the game, she will play out her heart and ensure the team come out victoriously.

The Management of the state owned team, however called on the sports loving masses of the state to come out en mass to support the team.
