D akkada FC defeated Sunshine Stars football club 3-0 to end the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League 11 position on the log with 51 points from 38 matches.

The Akure based side started the last match of the season with all intent to salvage a point at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo ,Akwa Ibom State.

Edidiong Ezekiel scored early to put the hosts ahead before Aniekan Ekpe made it two from penalty kick in the 19th  minute , the visitor’s efforts to reduce the deficit were not successful before the center referee signalled the end of the first stanza.

The hostility continued in the second half as the hosts did not relent in pressurizing the visitors in search for more goals.

Edidiong Ezekiel completed his brace in additional time to ensured the safety of the team from relegated to the lower league.

Meanwhile ,Rivers United have emerged as the winner of the 2021/22 season with 77points , Plateau United were second with 67 points while Rema Stars gannered 62 points to sit in third position with continental ticket at hand.

The defending Champions , Akwa United ended the season fourth on the log with 58 points, while Enugu Rangers, Nasarawa United and Enyimba were  fifth,six and seventh position respectively. With shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan survived relegation on the last day, while Katsina United, Heartland FC, Kano pillars and MFM were relegated to NNL.
