Sunshine Stars held NPFL champions at Uyo

Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure yesterday held the league defending Champions Akwa United to a barren draw at Uyo.
Sunshine Stars banking on their recent midweek 2-0 home victory over Gombe United and approach the match day 8 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) decided at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium with eyes on three maximum points.
The Akure Landlords could have be at a goal lead in the 15minutes from beautiful team move unleashed on target but Akwa United goalkeeper was well positioned to calmly save the shot.
The visitors continued their quest for three points in the 31 minutes as Ajagbe again unleashed a thunderous shot from outside the box, but the goalkeeper was lucky to tip the ball over the bar.
