All is now set for the newly recruited Sunshine Stars players to donn the club’s colour, the Chairman of Ondo State Football Agency , Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi has hinted.
Akinyemi in a chat with Sporting Hope said Sunshine Stars have cleared all the barriers delaying the registration of their newly signed players.
According to him, “FIFA ban has been lifted; we have paid the player that reported us to the football governing body last week Thursday. In fact, we have sent our letter and receipt of payment to FIFA, CAF and also to LMC.”
He added: “They have been registered since Friday but the paper is not yet out, by the time we get the paper, we are good to go.”
The ODSFA boss assured the club’s fans that they would keep the fire burning and ensure the club’s target are met, which is to represent the country at the Continental level.
Ahead of today’s encounter with Abia Warriors, Akinyemi said; “with the support and prayers of our fans, we can get a positive result from Abia state.”
He charged Nigerian referees to learn how to do it right, saying the action of the center referee in the Sunshine Stars against Rangers International was uncalled for.
He said; “the rule is that whenever a player is down, the first thing the referee does was to stop the play and attend to the players because safety must come first. The referee did otherwise when a Sunshine Stars’ player was down without any attention from the official.
“He totally lost the control of the game. We are not going to take any action over the game, since the LMC officials at the game venue have already reported the matter, with the assurance from the LMC Chairman that he will see to the matter.”
“We have learnt our lesson from Israel Abia’s case, so we won’t allow Sadeeq Yusuf to go same way. We are going to ensure we perfect his contractual papers,” he stressed.
