Ahead of Sunshine stars 2023/2024 league opener against Kano Pillars at Ondo State sports complex , in Akure the General Manager of the team Prince Tunde Ogunja has described his team’s opponent in the first home match as a “propeller”.
Ogunja in a chat with newsmen after the Inaugural general meeting of the league board commended the Elegbeleye led board for various initiatives brought into the system to help raise the bar of the NPFL .
He noted that with effective and robust synergy among football stakeholders, the league will be the best on the continent in few years .
The ex- International , however assured fans of Sunshine stars of the team’s readiness and commitment which will be evidently exhibited against the visitors in their league opener, describing the tie as a propeller for the Owena Whales .
” I’m glad that out first match is at home against Pillars , though they are coming back straight to the league having gone down months ago , but we know their antecedents and what they are capable of doing , but our players are up to the task “
Tunde Ogunja said a good fight always begins at home .

The last time Sunshine Stars played Kano Pillars was January 9, 2022 in a league fixture played at the Dipo Dina International Stadium Ijebu Ode and the Akure based side picked maximum three points , scoring 3 goals.
