Sunshine Stars snatch a point away from home

Sunshine Stars football club snatched a draw away from home in the week 16 of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The free flow match decided at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium ,Port Harcourt ,Rivers State saw Owena Whales held the host to a barren draw in the first half of the enthralling encounter .
Sunshine Stars Striker, Franklin Sasere did well in the second half to shield his maker off the ball though his effort rolled out wide .
Stars’ goal tender, Ayo Ojo denied Rivers United a chance at goal with full stretch saved in the 51 minute, before Ossy Martins converted a penalty for United in the 71 minute after the visitors were penalised for handball in the box .
The host was reduced to 10 men in the 83minutes for retaliatory assault on Stars’ Faud Ekelojuoti
Otegbeye converted for the visitors from the spot four minutes to the end of the match after he was impeded in the area.
The match ended 1-1 draw. Sunshine Stars would host Wikki Tourists at home in the week 17 of the 2018/19 NPFL.
