Sunshine Stars stroll past Shooting Stars in Southwest Derby

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Wednesday, fell 0-1 to Sunshine Stars in a Matchday twelve encounter played in Akure.

Coming from a nil all draw at home against Heartland FC last Sunday, the Oluyole Warriors started the game on high, giving an indication for a positive outing.

However, the Ibadan soccer lords could not translate their early raid into goal, against a Sunshine Stars side who also created few anxious moments in the encounter.

Coach Gbenga Ogunbote was made to make force changes as the duo of left back, Olawale Mutiu and forward, Emeka Obiora had to be replaced by Raheem Quadry and Mustapha Adams.

With the first half ending goalless, the Edith Agoye tutored lads made sporadic attacks on the visitors in the second half but the Ibadan soccer lords defense and goalkeeper Ovunda Darlintin did well to curtail them.

Former Shooting Stars striker, Moses Omoduemuke found the back of the net in the 73rd minute and the strike turned out to be the only goal of the match.

Efforts by the Oluyole Warriors to level up proved abortive until the referee brought proceedings to an end.

Shooting Stars will on Sunday, host Katsina United in a Match day thirteen fixture.
