Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Bamidele Ologun has commended both Sunshine Stars players and their coaches over their triumph over visiting Abia Warriors in the match day four of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Ologun said the team target was to win the league, saying the team is balanced with good players and experienced coaching crew.
He stated this after Sunshine Stars defeated Abia Warriors 1-0 at the Ondo State Sports complex, Akure.
He said: “The victory over Abia Warriors was well deserved, it came and we grabbed it, Sunshine Stars is a big team in the country ,so we are in the elite league to come out a champions this year, that is our target.”
“If we can keep the momentum going, we can play the whole season unbeaten,” he said.
Ologun urged private organisations to join hands with the government at all levels to develop sports.
“Development of Sports should not be left in the hands of government alone, that is how its’ been done Europe, I’m optimistic one day we will get there.”
