Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper, Matthew Yakubu, was in superb form during the weekend as he kept a clean sheet in between the sticks for his club, ŠKF Sered against visiting Ruzomberk in the Slovakian elite league, Fortuna Liga.
The former Nigerian U-20 goalkeeper continued his impressive form in their week 14 league game as he guided his team to a goalless stalemate against a tough Ruzomberk side who are placed 7th on the league log with seventeen points, two ahead of Sered’ who have a game at hand, to the admiration of his club’s hierarchy.
Though the 21-year-old goalkeeper has not kept in any international game for the senior national team since being invited, he is, however, part of Coach Gernot Rohr’s plans and is itching to prove his mettle once given the green light by the coaching staff of the Super Eagles.
A product of Clique Sports Academy, Lagos, Yakubu made his professional Fortuna Liga debut for ŠKF Sereď against FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce on 11 July 2020.
