Nigeria’s Super Eagles have booked their place in the Qatar 2022 World Cup play offs ,after played out a 1-1 draw against Cape Verde at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Super Eagles headed into the match with either win or draw to keep the hope of featuring in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar alive.
Eagles got a better side of their opponent two minutes into the game after Victor Osimhen benefitted form Moses Simon’s rebound.
Cape Verde cut short Eagles’ jubilation shut four minutes after as Stopira struck to give his side a leveller.
Efforts from both sides to make a difference was not successful as the score line remain unchanged till the end of the 90 minutes of play.
Eagles had earlier defeated Liberia 2- 0 in Thiaga, Morocco before they were shared spoils with Cape Verde.
The 2022 FIFA world Cup African play offs will commence next year March.
Super Eagles finished top of group with 13 points, two more than their Blue Sharks
