Sunshine Stars Football Club have been charged to defeat the newly promoted side, Doma United FC in their open match of the 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) slated Pantami Stadium Gombe on Sunday.

Chairman of Sunshine Stars/Queens supporters club, Mr Babatunde Adeboboye stated this in a chat with Sporting Hope .

Adeboboye said it will be good for Sunshine Stars take advantage of the newly promoted Club to come home with three maximum points.

He added that the 2023/24 Nigeria Professional Football League is special one, because it’s abridged league and it’s always tougher than the straight league.

The Chairman Supporters club said he is optimistic that the team will do well this season, saying with the little training he watched, there is great improvement in the team, unlike before they went to pre-season competition.

He said: “Supporters club will also embark on fans sensitisation, because we don’t want any hooliganism at the stadium this season, Interim Management Committee of the league (IMC) has warned that any erring club will lose three points with heavy fine. So in that wise, we want to talk to the fans to do away with any form of thuggery during and after any home matches.”

“We are going to tell them to give the team maximum support without intimidating any players, other than to encourage them for better performance.”
