Supreme Court verdict: ODHA congratulates Gov

Lawmakers in the Ondo State House of Assembly have congratulated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his victory at the Supreme Court in Abuja.
The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Eyitayo Jegede had contested the candidature of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in the October 10, ,2020 Gubernatorial Election in Ondo State at the Election Petition Tribunal in Akure, arguing that he was not properly nominated by his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his appeal, at Eyitayo Jegede among others requested the court to declare him winner of the October 10, 2020 gubernatorial election in Ondo State.
His request was however turned down at the Election Tribunal, as well as the Appeal Court in Akure strucked out the case in favour of the Governor on the ground that the appeal lacked merit.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Assembly spokesman, Akogun Olugbenga Omole, the Lawmakers described the verdict as a landmark in the dispensation of Justice in Nigeria.
The Speaker, Oleyelogun Bamidele who spoke through Olugbenga Omole noted that the verdict was another plus for democracy.
While congratulating the Governor on the well deserved victory, the Lawmakers called on Mr Eyitayo Jegede to join hands with Governor Akeredolu towards enhancing the delivery of democracy dividends to the people of the state and for the spirit of coexistence.
