Supreme Court verdict: Time for more work –Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, said the people of the State should expect more developmental work and dividends of good governance in the next four years.
Aiyedatiwa stated this while reacting to the Supreme Court judgement upholding the re-election of Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
He thanked the people of the state for giving their mandate to Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa team during the October 10, 2020 governorship election as well as for their support during the legal tussle from the Tribunal to the Apex Court.
He said though the Akeredolu-led government remained focused and was able to record landmark achievements and inaugurated several developmental projects within its one hundred days in office, the end of the legal distractions signaled the commencement of more works for the government.
He noted that the judgement reflected the will of the Ondo State people for good governance as demonstrated at the poll.
According to him, ‘The will of the people prevailed. This was demonstrated during the election on October 10, 2020 when they came out to vote for APC and Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu with the highest votes ever recorded by any governorship candidate of any political party that has ruled Ondo State.’
‘I must tell you that distractions are now over.
Though we never stopped (working) one day really.
“The governor has never allowed the court case to hinder him from performing his functions because if you look at the first one hundred days of the second term in office, you could see a lot of projects that were stated, completed and commissioned.
“But like I said, there were distractions and was taking toll on government’s energy and time that would have been spent on other things were being used for preparations of cases and briefs. This I could say were forms of distractions.’ Aiyedatiwa said.
