Suspected ritualist arrested in Akure
Barely a month after a middle-aged man was murdered in cold blood with his vital organs chopped off at Agbogbo bus-stop in Akure, residents of the area have apprehended a man suspected to be a ritualist.
The residents and commercial motorcyclists who arrested the suspect revealed that they noticed he had been staying at the bus stop shelter by the roundabout in the morning and evening periods .
Out of curiosity, it was learnt that the people around the place close to Okada riders park, reportedly approached the man for enquiries.
The Hope Metro gathered that upon searching the suspect, found some items on him which included, packets of Razor blades and other dangerous items including money.
Men of the Nigeria Police were said to have arrived the scene immediately and whisked away the man and other items found on him.
But the scenario, however changed, when some army officers arrived the scene and eventually arrested the suspected ritualist.
An apple seller close to the bus shelter was also arrested after the suspect told the angry mob that the apple seller knew him.
As at the time of filing this report, the police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, confirmed the man was found with dangerous items and that he has been arrested for investigation.
