Tailor remanded for stealing food, soup

A 19-year-old tailor, Adua Fatogun, has been remanded by an Ondo Magistrate Court, for stealing food, a pot of soup, gas cylinders, and other items worth N311,100.

Fatogun was arraigned before the court  for burglary and theft on October 12, 2023, at about 9 am at Ifeleye Street, Ayeyemi in Ondo .

He was said to have stolen the property of three people; Felix  Ogunbolade, Adeoga Aboodun, and Akinsete Adurayemi.

The police prosecutor, Bernard Olagbayi, said the offences contravened Section 383 and was punishable under Section 412(1), 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State.

He was said to have stolen some household items. But he pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge .

Olagbayi urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him present the prosecution witnesses and prepare them for trial.

The defendant was not legally represented.

Magistrate O. A. Omofolarin, in her ruling, remanded the defendant till the next day of adjournment on February 19, 2024, for trial.
