Team Osun has officially opened its gold medal account at the 22nd National Sports Festival, tagged “Gateway Games,” with a remarkable achievement in women’s weightlifting.

Islamiyat Yusuf delivered a historic performance by clinching the gold medal in the 71kg snatch category, securing the state’s first top-podium finish of the tournament.

Her outstanding lift not only earned Osun its first gold but also set a promising tone for further successes.

Yusuf remains a strong contender in other weightlifting categories, and Team Osun is optimistic about adding more medals as the competition continues.
