‘Tech education ‘ll solve youth unemployment’

Technical education has been described as one of the surest avenues to wage war against youth unemployment in the country.

The principal of Federal Technical Secondary School, Ikare Akoko, Dr Muyibat Adenike Olodo made the assertion at a ceremony marking the 19 years of the establishment of the school.

Dr Olodo therefore sees technical education as the quickest and surest way to be self employed.

She described the post primary institution as a place where youths can embrace vocational skills with sound education that will make them become employers of Labour and not necessarily waiting for white collar jobs that are very scarce.

 The principal gave kudos to the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Education for adequate funding of all the unity schools all over the country.

Dr Olodo attributed the outstanding annual result of the school to its quality teaching staff.

He urged parents and well to do citizens to always partner with government to develop education as government alone cannot provide all necessary needs for the schools.

She described the 19 years of the school as very successful and historical.
