Tell contractors to speed up road projects, Akoko residents urge govt

Residents across Akoko communities have appealed to the government at all levels to call on contractors handling various road projects in the area to hasten their work before the dry season begins.
They expressed concern over the slow pace of work on major roads, warning that further delay could worsen the hardship faced by motorists and traders who rely on the routes for daily movement.
A community leader from Eriti Akoko, Chief Jerome Oloruntoke, urged the government to put effective monitoring measures in place to ensure that contractors meet deadlines and maintain standard work quality.
He noted that the timely completion of the roads would ease transportation challenges, promote local trade, and enhance development in the area.
According to him, many of the roads have remained in poor condition for years despite being awarded for rehabilitation.
Chief Oloruntoke, therefore, appealed to both the federal and state governments to impress it upon the contractors to speed up their work and deliver the projects without further delay.
