It was sheer providence and divine intervention that saved a reporter of The Hope newspaper, Jimoh Ahmed who was attacked by miscreant during the Olokoja chieftaincy crisis in Ikare.
Jimoh Ahmed, the Ondo North Correspondent of the newspaper outfit was attacked while trying to take pictures of the crisis.
The reporter who has been following the event got a shock of his life when one middle aged man suddenly ran to him and demanded to know why he was taking the photograph.
In the process another one joined him while three others followed suit.
It was while trying to explain his mission to the angry youths that another one, who appeared to be drunk appeared and without asking any question attempted hitting the reporter with a plank on the head.
It was sheer providence that saved the journalist but was not all that lucky as the tip of the plank hit him on the face, sustaining injuries in the process.
However, other youths who are familiar with the reporter intervened and cautioned the attacker.
Jimoh has since returned to work.
