Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. Bamidele Ademola-Olateju has commended The Hope newspaper for giving the hope amidst the current challenges bedeviling Nigeria.
Ademola-Olateju, who was on a courtesy visit to the company in company of the management staff of the Ministry said the name of the company is significant to the yearnings of Nigerians.
While noting that the visit was to familiarize with the management and staff of Owena Press Limited, she requested for cooperation and synergy between the ministry and the newspaper to move the state forward.
“The name is so interesting because we have found ourselves at a very critical junction as the country faces many threats. I must say I am impressed that The Hope is giving us hope.
“I am here to ask for your cooperation and collaboration. At this point in time, we have a lot to do to protect the state. It is when we guarantee the security of lives and property that we can see economic growth. I look forward to working with you,” she said.
Responding, the Chairman of Owena Press Limited, Sir Ademola Adetula noted that The Hope was established to give Ondo state the recognition it needed when it started as Owena News in 1989 before its name was changed to The Hope.
He said The Hope is the only newspaper that delivers papers to the doorsteps of subscribers in the state and has reporters in the local government areas in the state.
“If you do a content analysis of our newpaper, you will see that our editorials are very recent, topical and fearless,” he stated.
While noting that no national newspaper can beat The Hope in term of covering Ondo state, he assured that the company would continue to support the state government in actualizing its objectives.
