I welcome us all to this edition. We shall be looking at The Power of God’s Presence. I pray that the eyes of our Understanding be opened up to the deep things of God as we read in Jesus name.
The heartbeat of God concerning us this season is that All of us must take our relationship with Him to another level. Our spirituality determines our manifestation. You cannot live casually without becoming a casualty. You have to be involved spiritually in the affairs of your life.
Things God’s presence did for David
1. The hand of God upon David’s life made him a terror to the lions and the bears of this world. The bible says in 1 Pet 5:8b “Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” The presence of God is the only escape route from the devil’s stealing and killing.
2. The Spirit of the Lord upon David, which is the presence of God, gave him boldness.
to go after the Goliath of Israel. 1 Sam 17:37
3. The presence of God announced him and placed him where it mattered the most. 1 Sam 17:55; and 18:22. I decree that the Presence of God is changing Someone’s status this month in Jesus name.
4. The presence of God chose Jonathan for him as a friend. At that moment of David’s life, he needed a relationship for future events of his life and the only one who could fit best was Jonathan. 1 Sam 18:1.
Just run after God’s presence today and you will see God in a new dimension doing for you more than what He did for David. if you really want God’s presence continually, you must embrace the agent of His Presence with all your heart.
What is this agent? LOVE. It is more than a feeling. It is active. Without love, you are dead. “We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death”. (1 John 3:14, NASB).
Check your love thermometer with these 4 things: if they are present in your life, then you are walking in love. If one or two are missing, try to attain them.
1. Love invloves passion.
Passion that must drive you to seek God the more. When you are passionately in love with God,
you seek Him with all you have. You pursue Him (Mk 12:30). David said “1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God? (Psalm 42:1-2, NASB) and Psalm; 27:8.
No wonder! David was a man that carried the Presence of God throughout his lifetime. Be passionate also about others in the Kingdom and around you. Seek their good. be mindful of them and look out for their welfare.
2. Luke 9:62. Another proof of your Love is your level of commitment. How committed are you to God and His people? My husband defines commitment as a process you start and you can’t stop. How far can you go for God and for others. Matt 5:38-42. Your love for God always constrains you, you can’t do as you wish.
3. Love is sacrificial. Matt 5:43-48
What sacrifice are you making for the presence of God. Some of us sacrifice our sleep to pray for the work of God. Some will come and clean the church. Some will sacrifice pleasure to visit members of the church. What is your sacrifice? We are poor because we are a society that hates sacrifice. We want cheap miracles. We are not so willing to go the extra mile. Some dreams become aborted because their owners are too complacent to make the sacrifice that is needed to birth and nurture them. The bible says ” he that loves pleasure will become poor. Why? Pleasure and Pressure are opposite one another. It takes pressure to give birth to greatness and that is sacrificial. No marriage can stand without sacrifice.
4. Love is demonstrated through joyful relationships – not envious, not jealous, nor is it self-seeking. Gal 5:13-15, Ps 37:4. Our Relationship with God and with one another should be joyful. Serve the Lord with gladness is God’s instruction to us through Prophet David in Psalm 100:2.
Do you desire to enjoy the presence of God like David did? Then let the Holy Ghost baptize you with God’s love that will put you in His presence continually. If this is all we need to make it in life, to live above mediocrity, would you not make the sacrifice of going to His presence regularly to ask for the baptism of His love? When He baptizes you with His Love and you abide in His Presence, you enjoy Divine Direction Psalm 25:9, 12-13. Wait, what is the total summary of your pursuits that make you come home daily worn out and perplexed? It’s what God promises us in verse 13 “His soul will abide in prosperity, And his descendants will inherit the land. (Psalm 25:13, NASB).
Can we please pray that the fire of God burn up all impurities with and make us whole to desire more of Him in our daily lives. Peradventure you have not given your life to Him, you must do it now if you really desire His Presence. Ask Him to Come into your life. Ask Him to forgive all sins and fill you with His love. Pray for grace to live above mediocrity. You need to grow in grace so get a bible and start reading with a burning Passion to locate God in His Word. You will also need to fellowship with other believers in a bible believing Church. Shall we wrap it up by saying ” THE CURTAIN ON THIS EARTH SHALL SOON BE DRAWN. WHEN THAT HAPPENS, WHERE WILL YOU SPEND YOUR ETERNITY. YOU ARE A SPIRIT SO YOU CAN’T DIE. LIFE CONTINUES ON THE OTHER SIDE. WHERE WILL YOUR OWN OTHER SIDE BE? HEAVEN OR HELL? PLEASE GIVE IT A DEEP THOUGHT. MARANATA!!!
