Text : Colossians chapter 3 verse 16

The Bible says in the book of Colossians chapter 3 verse 16 that, ‘let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord’. Wisdom has parts, You can not be wise until you do something about the word of God.

Word that come from God is the word that carry the light of God. This word can change your life if you do something with it. If you are hearing the word of God, you can teach people.

If you allow the word of God to dwell richly in your hearts:

(1) Sound teaching will come out of it

(2) Spiritual hymns will come out of  it

(3) We can be great and rich like

Abraham if we allow the word of God to dwell richly in us.

If you want to be rich and skillful you must do the following.

(2) Hear the word of God.

How to hear God’s word: you must be filled with the holy spirit ,without him you can not do anything, then buy tapes  attend  church services, attend Bible study, listen to sermon.  Apostle Ayo Babalola said three things, one of it is that, as a Christian there is no time you must stop hearing the word of God, Luke chapter 8 verse 18 says “take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

For serious hearing, you can not be hearing the word of God and still be receiving phone calls.

When you are hearing the word of God confess any sin in your life.

Take note of what you hear Heb 2 verse 1.

Keep a spiritual note book.

Act on what you hear,  James 1 verse 25.

Keep away distraction.

Revelation Chapter 1verse 3

Best way to read the Bible —carry the Bible without references.

Read the Bible systematically, read different translations, don’t confine yourself to a version.

When you read, underline the key verses. You can complete reading the Bible in a year by spending 15 minutes in studying the Bible a day. If our leaders want to succeed, they must cultivate the habit of reading the word of God, Deuteronomy chapter 17 verse 19.
