Three  docked over alleged felony

Three men have been arraigned before an Odigbo Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State for alleged felony.

The accused,  Oluwafemi Babalola, 30,  Sunday Thompson, 38, and, Olaniyi Lateef, were arraigned by the police on four counts bordering on felony and unlawful assault before Magistrate T.J Ajayi.

The police prosecutor, Sgt. Muyideen Yekini, said the duo accused, Thompson and Lateef connived with others at large to unlawfully assault one Kehinde Adelegan’ and inflicted injury on her body within the Ore Magisterial District.

The prosecution said they committed the offences on February 14,  2019, at about 8: 30pm at former Adebless filling station, Ore.

They were alleged of conspiracy to commit felony to wit assault occasioning harm and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 516(A) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37 Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The charge read in part,”That you Babalola, Thompson, Lateef and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District willfully and unlawfully damaged a Vento Volkswagen car with number plate DH 395 LSD valued at N800,000, property of one Kehinde Adelegan and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 451 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.

The Magistrate, T.J. Tijani,  granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N50,000 each with two sureties in like sum.

He said the sureties must show evidence of tax payment to the Ondo State Government and adjourned the case till February 27, 2019.
