…Ex-lawmaker says president deserves massive re-election support

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Adejoro Adeogun, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s development initiatives as undeniable evidence of effective governance and visionary leadership.
Adeogun, who served as the representative of Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency in the 9th National Assembly, stated this while speaking with journalists after the investiture of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the Grand Patron of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) in Ondo State.
The former lawmaker, who is the National Director of Media and Publicity for the TSG, said the event was deliberately organised to celebrate and publicise President Tinubu’s achievements in the state.
According to him, the Tinubu Support Group is not merely a political platform but a movement founded on gratitude and conviction that the President’s reforms are transforming Ondo’s economic and infrastructural landscape.
“Tinubu has done so well for Ondo State and we felt it was time to let the people know,” he said. “We planned this deliberately because when a man performs, you must encourage him to do even better.”
Adeogun highlighted several federal projects as clear indicators of the President’s commitment to Ondo State, including the 75-kilometre coastal road project that passes through the state, the dualisation of the Ore–Akure highway and the ongoing construction of the Akure–Ado Ekiti road.
He also mentioned the reconstruction of the Ado–Akure road, the approval and handover of the FUTA Teaching Hospital and the siting of the Southwest campus of the Aviation College in Ondo as further testimony to Tinubu’s dedication to regional development.
“With the aviation school coming to Ondo, our youths will have access to world-class training in aeronautics and piloting,” he said.
“Our airport will be expanded and the state will become a key player in Nigeria’s aviation sector.”
The ex-lawmaker added that the President’s economic policies were beginning to yield positive outcomes, citing the recent strengthening of the naira as evidence of growing stability in the nation’s financial system.
He noted that the TSG would continue to collaborate closely with the Ondo State Government to ensure political alignment and unity of purpose ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Our goal is to move as one team. In the last election, Ondo gave Tinubu about 65 percent of the votes. This time, we are targeting between 80 and 90 percent,” Adeogun said.
On the proliferation of Tinubu support groups, Adeogun explained that the TSG serve as an umbrella organisation for all similar bodies, stressing cooperation rather than competition.
“We are not competing with anyone. Anyone who supports Tinubu is our ally. There’s strength in synergy,” he said.
Addressing Nigerian youths, Adeogun urged them to back the President’s re-election not for immediate gains but for the promise of a brighter future.
“Tinubu is offering young people a future built on opportunity and hope. This is not about what we can collect now, but about building a country that allows youths to truly become leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
Adeogun reaffirmed the commitment of the TSG to intensify grassroots mobilisation across Ondo communities to consolidate support for the President ahead of the next general election.
