Tinubu’s policies will set the pace for greater Nigeria – Deji of Akure

The Deji and paramount ruler of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi has urged Nigerians to have strong faith in the Tinubu’s administration and its economic policies towards a positive turnaround for the country.
The monarch gave this charge at the 33rd convocation and the 42nd Founders’ Day celebration of the Federal University of Technology, Minna held on Saturday at the Dr. Suleiman Kumo Convocation Square of the main campus in Gidan Kwano.
The monarch who is the Chancellor of the institution commended President Tinubu’s commitment to education and national development.
“Your administration’s bold reforms in fostering economic stability and progress inspire hope for a brighter future. I urge Nigerians to exercise patience and cooperate with the economic policies of Mr. President which I believe will yield a positive result for the betterment of our nation and the people.”
According to statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Monarch, Mr. Michael Adeyeye, Oba Aladetoyinbo urged the President not to relent in his efforts at justifying the confidence reposed in him by the Nigerian citizens by vigorously pursuing the renewed hope agenda of his administration for a more prosperous and virile Nigeria.
Oba Aladetoyinbo who eulogized the Institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, for his exemplary leadership and his initiatives to improve staff welfare, embrace e-learning, and upholding academic excellence of the institution which make FUTMinna to rank 8th position in the country in a recent ranking released by the Times Higher ranking of 2025.
The monarch opined that the challenges facing higher institutions in the country must be acknowledged.
“While the Federal Government’s renewed hope agenda, including student loans and reduced funding for interventions, aims to enhance efficiency, these changes demand creative solutions from all stakeholders. The monarch urged the government to reconsider the proposed phasing out of agencies like Tetfund, which play a critical role in supporting the development of our institutions.”
He was accompanied to the event by the Owa of Ogbagi Akoko, Oba Victor Adetona, Chief Akin Adinlewa, Rear Admiral Samuel Alade (Rtd.), Prince Kole Aladetoyinbo, Mr. Adeyeye Michael, Chief Taiwo Fagite, Hon Adeniyan Adedayo, Hon. Jayeoba Oluwatuyi amongst others.
