Diocesan Bishop of Ijesa North Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev’d Isaac Oluyamo has condemned the call for an Interim National Government by some people.
The Bishop said nothing should stop the inauguration of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29, this year.
Oluyamo who stated this during church service, enjoined Tinubu to embrace other contenders and work with them for the betterment of the country.
“Bishop Oluyamo disagreed with the agitation of imposing interim government on Nigeria insisting. rather; the winner of the election (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) should be sworn-in come May 29, 2023.
“I want to advise Tinubu to embrace other political parties and work with them for the betterment of our Country.
The Bishop also congratulated Lawmaker-elect from Owo/Ose Federal constituency, Mr. Timilehin Adelegbe for his victory during the just concluded national election.
He appealed to the Federal Government to complete the bridge that link Okeluse to Ogbese in Ondo State.
He appreciated the Governor of Ondo State; Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the role played in upholding the security and peace of the State.
He implored him to work harder in ensuring that more security posts and army check- points are put in place across the state most especially the road leading to Okeluse and its environs, saying kidnappings and killings by herdsmen prevent the people of the community from going to farms.
The cleric also thanked the Bishop of Owo Diocese; the Rt. Rev’d Dr. Stephen Fagbemi for his visit to the victims of herdsmen’s massacre in Okeluse community.
Similarly, the Standup For Women Society (SWS) has urged Christians to use the Easter celebration to pray for the nation and the transition moment that will have the new President-elect, Senator Bola Tinubu sworn in, on May 29.
The President of the society, Mrs. Deborah Ijadele-Adetona through the association’s Public Relations Officer, Billie Nwogu in a statement urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for the country and successful inauguration which is less than two months.
Adetona further advised Nigerians to embrace peace and unity which are part of the ingredients to build a greater and better society that we will continue to be proud of at all times.
