Tokyo 2020: Be good ambassadors, OSSC GM charges Adekuoroye, Adeniyi

As the 2020 Olympics dunks off today in Tokyo, the General Manager of Ondo State Sports Council (OSSC), Mr Henry Omoyele Babatunde has charged two of the athletes representing the country from the Sunshine state to be good ambassadors of the state.
The number one athlete to qualify for the Tokyo 2020, Odunayo Adekuoroye 57Kg and her compatriot, Aminat Adeniyi 62 Kg were Ondo wrestlers in the team Nigeria to the Games and their coach, Purity Akor.
The General Manager in a chat with Sporting Hope said the state and the entire country were hopeful that Odunayo will win Gold for the country with the level of her preparation and competition she had participated in both local and international ahead of the Olympics.
He added that Aminat Adeniyi in her category would also do well,no doubt she will come home with medal, both of them are our pride in Ondo state.
“All of us at the state sports council pray God to grant them success at the games.”
The General Manager admonished the duo to be a good ambassador of the state and the country at large.
They should display the good characteristic Ondo State state is known for; they should also obey all the rules and regulations of the games and adhere strictly to the COVID -19 protocols.
Meanwhile, a retired coach in Ondo State, Mrs Regina Onofe would be in charge of Nigerian Rowing and Canoeing at the mundia.
