Top-rate VIO, Adeleye bows out of service in style

The atmosphere was filled with nostalgia and celebration as the Vehicle Inspection Services (VIS) of Ondo State hosted a grand pull-out and retirement ceremony in honour of their esteemed Director, Engr. Dennis Alaba Adeleye, MNSE.

The ceremony held on Thursday April 3, 2025, at the VIO State Headquarters along Reuben Fasoranti/Ado Road, Akure, the event drew government officials, colleagues, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to recognise and celebrate Adeleye’s remarkable contributions to road safety and vehicle compliance in Ondo State.

Adeleye dedicated 22 years to public service, rising through the ranks to become the Director of Vehicle Inspection Services in the state.

Under his leadership, the department achieved significant milestones, including the modernisation of vehicle inspections, the enhancement of road safety regulations, and the overall improvement of transportation standards across the state.

His unwavering efforts played a crucial role in ensuring safer roads for all users.

The ceremony commenced with the arrival of guests, followed by an opening prayer led by Pastor Fesobi Moyinoluwa.

Choristers from The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus Embassy Akure, thereafter, rendered a solemn hymn, setting a reverent tone for the occasion.

The Master of Ceremonies welcomed attendees and guided them through an evening of appreciation and admiration. Government officials, dignitaries, and industry representatives delivered goodwill messages, reflecting on Adeleye’s impact and lasting legacy.

Colleagues and stakeholders shared heartfelt testimonies, recounting his professionalism, leadership and mentorship.

Many described Adeleye as a visionary leader and a dedicated public servant who transformed the Vehicle Inspection Services department.

An emotional moment came during Adeleye’s valedictory speech. With deep gratitude and reflection, he recounted his journey in public service, acknowledging the support of his colleagues, the government and his family.

The audience responded with a standing ovation, expressing their appreciation for his years of commitment.

As a token of appreciation, the retiring Director was presented with gifts, recognising his outstanding service.

The highlight of the evening was the official pull-out ceremony, a symbolic tradition in which he was escorted out in a ceremonial vehicle, signifying his transition into retirement.

The celebration concluded with entertainment, a reception and closing remarks, leaving a lasting memory of a well-deserved farewell.

As Engr. Dennis Alaba Adeleye embarks on a new chapter, his legacy within the Vehicle Inspection Services department remains an inspiration for future generations.
