Trader docked over N3m fraud

A 42-year-old trader, Oyewole Alexrayn, has been arraigned before an Akure Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged N3millon Fraud.

The defendant committed the offence on May 15, 2019 at about 15hours in Ondo City.

The trader who is facing a two-count charge, pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

The prosecutor, Supol Martins Olowofeso told the court that the defendant fraudulently converted N3,000,000 belonging to one Uroko Agada for his personal use.

The offence committed is contrary to and punishable under Sections 383, 390 and 516 of the Criminal Code Cap, 37. Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

Counsel to the defendant, E.L Okoye prayed the court to admit his client to bail in most liberal terms.

In his ruling, Magistrate R.A Olumilua granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till November 11, 2022 for advice.
