Traditional rulers in Ondo State have pledged unwavering support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, commending his administration’s progress in security, infrastructure and education.

The monarchs vowed to collaborate closely with the government to maintain peace and foster development across the state.

The endorsement followed a courtesy visit to Governor Aiyedatiwa by the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye, who is also Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas.

The meeting, held at the Governor’s Office in Akure, provided a platform to review the state’s development agenda and strengthen ties between traditional institutions and government.

Oba Ogunoye congratulated the governor on his overwhelming re-election victory and praised his administration for reducing the state’s debt.

He commended key appointments, including Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowumi Isaac and Permanent Secretary, Mudashiru Adegbeha.

The monarch also praised Amotekun Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye for his frontline leadership in security operations.

He assured the governor of the traditional council’s continuous support, emphasising their role in mobilising grassroots backing for government programmes.

Also speaking, the Olumoru of Imoru, Oba Rotimi Obamuwagun, hailed Aiyedatiwa’s historic clean sweep of all 18 local government areas, describing it as proof of popular confidence.

Responding, Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed that peace and security are essential for growth and investment.

He credited the improved safety record in Ondo to the collaboration between the Amotekun Security Network and federal agencies.

According to him, in order to bolster security, the government plans to distribute 50 additional Hilux vehicles to various security outfits.
