Traditional rulers in Ondo state under the auspices of 130 Crown Obas yesterday converged on Akure, the Ondo state capital to seek God’s face for Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The monarchs who prayed in Christian, Muslim and traditional ways asked God to restore the governor’s health.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the prayer sessions, the President of the 130 crown Obas, Molokun of Atijere land, Oba Samuel Adeoye said the royal fathers decided to embark on the prayers because the governor deserved to be healthy considering his performance in governance.
“We as traditional rulers believe that there’s need for us to organize this special prayer, we can jointly pray for our Governor for quick recovery, so that he can join us as soon as possible. Our Governor is a good person and he has done numerous work for us, since he had health issues in months ago, we are not happy, we feel it is necessary as Kings to pray for him, so that God would Grant him quick peace.”
Oba Adeboye however described as unfortunate and disheartening that some individuals were playing politics with the health of the governor.
Also speaking, the Olupe of Ipe- Akoko, Evangelist Francis Apata expressed hope that Akeredolu would return to the state safe and sound.
Oba Apata urged political office holders to discharge their duties in good conscience .
“Today is our statutory meeting day, we have decided to pray for our Governor for quick recovery, so that he can recover from the sickness, several bodies have been praying for his quick recovery, the council of Obas in Ondo State has also prayed for his recovery,” he said.
