Traffic: Council boss seeks stronger ties with OSSTCC

Worried by the worsening traffic congestion in Akure, the Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Gbenga Timothy Fasua, has called for a more strategic partnership with the Ondo State Sunshine Traffic Control Corps (OSSTCC) to restore order on the roads.

During a courtesy visit by OSSTCC Commandant, Afolami Ebenezer, Fasua, alongside his Vice Chairman, Adebayo Ayodele, lauded the Corps’ efforts but stressed the need for intensified enforcement to curb the growing traffic crisis in the state capital.

He noted that persistent gridlocks were disrupting economic activities and causing undue hardship for commuters, adding that a more proactive approach was required to address the situation.

Fasua assured the OSSTCC of the local government’s full support in implementing solutions that would enhance traffic flow and ensure safer roads for motorists and pedestrians alike.

The meeting reinforced the urgency of collaborative efforts between the government and traffic management agencies to improve urban mobility in Akure.
