Tragedy struck in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, as two yet-to-be-identified men were crushed to death in a road accident.

The incident, which occurred at Idi Mango area around 10 p.m. yesterday, involved a car with no registration plate and a motorcycle.

The Hope Metro gathered that the accident was caused by the car driver’s over speeding along the ever-busy Ore to Okitipupa road.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the driver was highly intoxicated, driving at high speed when he hit the two persons on the motorcycle.

“The driver ran away, having realised he had committed a crime,” one witness said.

One of the victims died on the spot, while the other was taken to the hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

This incident led to angry mob setting the car ablaze.
