A 78-year-man, Akanbi Adedoyin, was reportedly killed by his grandson, identified as Kusibe, following a disagreement on farm ownership at Ipare-Ijesha community in Osun State.
The suspect was said to have used a plank to hit the head of his grandfather during a heated disagreement over a farm located in the community.
Our correspondent learnt that residents in the area, who heard the old man crying for help, rushed to the scene and rescued him.
Sources said the victim was rushed to a government health facility in the town, for urgent treatment, but was later referred to Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, due to the severity of the wounds.
Reports said the family was unable to pay for further treatment, as a result of which he eventually died two days later.
