. We found their corpses in the pool of their blood — Neighbours

Tears flowed freely in the Ita Eku area of Igirigiri Road, Odo Ado, Ado Ekiti, on Tuesday as some residents discovered the lifeless bodies of a husband and his wife in the pool of their blood in their room.

The deceased husband, identified as Supol Leramo Caleb, an officer serving with the Ekiti State police command, was reportedly involved in a hit altercation with his wife.

Although, the details of the issue that led to their altercation and death remained unclear. However, reliable sources hinted that the couple may have matcheted and killed each other, given the deep cuts and wounds on their bodies.

One of their neighbours, who requested anonymity, revealed that the disturbing scene was discovered after an alarm was raised and loud wailing was heard in the neighborhood.

“I was passing by when I saw a crowd gathered, weeping and in shock at the sight of their lifeless bodies,” the source said.

He added : “The neighbours were drawn to the house by the cries of their children, but no one knows exactly what led to it.”

Another witness hinted that the couple had a violent dispute at the early morning on the fateful day which escalated. “From what I saw, it appeared as though they had a serious fight. Some said the woman might have severed the man’s private part, and in retaliation, the man inflicted deep wounds on her. But no one could say exactly what truly transpired.”

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, stated that an investigation had commenced to determine the actual cause of death.

“It is confirmed and investigations are ongoing to establish the details of the incident,” Abutu said in a text message. “Meanwhile, the bodies have been deposited in the morgue.”
