Tragic! Three policemen, suspect, die in Ondo auto crash

Three policemen and a suspect under arrest have been killed in an auto crash that reportedly occurred on the Benin-Ore-Ijebu-Ode Expressway in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was learnt that the deceased policemen who were attached to the monitoring units of the state police command had left Akure to arrest the suspect when the incident occurred.

According to eye witnesses, the accident occurred when a truck lost control while descending the ore bridge.

The truck was said to have rammed into the police vehicle, instantly killing all the occupants, except a policeman who escaped with serious injuries.

The injured policeman had been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident through a phone conversation with our correspondent. The official assured that more details would be provided on the crash

State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, has confirmed the incident.

“The incident happened; that is what I can say for now,” the PPRO tersely stated.
