Tribute to a trail blazer

The government of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu came into governance in Ondo State on the February 24, 2017 with high expectations from different interest groups. Among the groups, the officials of the State Ministry of information & Orientation, a government organ saddled with the responsibility of Information dissemination was pregnant with desire to have a slot or position of Permanent Secretary which was realized with the appointment of Mrs. Folabi-Fayeun Juliana Mojoyinola in February 2021.
Mrs. Fayehun was born on June 24 ,1961.
Julie as fondly called by colleagues and friends is a through breed professional and journalist of high repute. She had her Primary and Secondary school education between 1968 and 1979 and later to Kwara State College of Technology, Ilorin in 1980 before proceeding to the prestigious University of Lagos in 1983 where she graduated in 1986 with a B.Sc. in Mass Communication.
Mrs. Folabi-Fayeun joined the Service of Ondo State as Information Officer on October 5, 1987 and rose to the enviable position of Director, Information Services on January 1, 2010. In her sojourn as Information Officer, she had golden opportunity to serve as Press Officer to wives of two Military Administrators – Mrs. Fatima Usman and Mrs. Grace Onyearugbulem between 1995 and 1997 and later served as Press Officer to the wife of Governor Adebayo Adefarati between 1999 to 2000.
Mrs. Juliana is a good team player, disciplined and attentive to details. She also played major roles in the State Information Machinery as Producer and Presenter of Public Service Programme on Television tagged Ondo State Highlight between 1993 and 2005. As supervising Producer of “Ondo State This Week” 2006 – 2009 and the much celebrated “Caring Heart TV” programme from 2009 – 2016.
Apart from the regular schedule of her duties, she distinguished herself by her commitment and dedication to duty, she served diligently on various committees including – Publicity Committee on Governor Mimiko’s administration’s anniversaries (2009 – 2017). Planning Committee on Christmas Carols organized by the State government (2009 – 2016). Planning Committee on hosting of the participants of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, on study Tour of Ondo State (April, 2015) among others.
Mrs. Folabi-Fayeun Juliana Mojoyinola whose career objective is to attain challenging managerial or professional position within the public service of Ondo State is married to Chief Folabi-Fayeun and blessed with wonderful children. She will bow out of the Civil Service of Ondo State after a meritorious service-today June 21, 2021.
