TRIBUTE TO AN ICON

Late Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi was a successful visioned man who lived to serve humanity.

As a lover of true service, when he learnt about Junior Chamber International (JCI) which is a Non Governmental Organisation that was established by a young man named Late Henry Gissenber and his friends in the year 1910 at the city of Saint Louis, in The United States of America and keying to its purpose, which is ” to contribute to the advancement of the global community, by providing the opportunity for young people to develop the leadership skills, social responsibility, enterpreneurship and fellowship necessary to create positive change”, he decided to connect with his faith in God Almighty to give meaning and purpose to human lives by establishing the local chapter, JCI Akure in 1983.

40 years down the lane, Late Otunba ‘s charter organisation have helped in producing notable leaders in all spheres of life, amongst who are: JC. Professor Osofisan who was a Commissioner, Dr. Tayo Dairo who was also a Chairman for NRC, Late Oshekita who was the Local Government Chairman Igede- Ekiti, Ekiti State, and I, JC. Abímbólá Iyùnajéladéwúrà Òdóginyòn privileged to be the third female President and the 40th President of the Noble Organisation.

His decision to expand Junior Chamber International in Nigeria gave him achievement to produce JCI Senator Tunji Oyeyemi as a National President in year 2016, JCI Ambassador Ayokunle Omowaye as National Executive Vice President 2017, JCI Senator Leke Salami, JCI Ambassador Stephen Olubunmi as 2023 National Vice President District II, many Senators and Ambassador both in Nigeria and diaspora.

Late Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, fought a good fight in expanding selfless service to humanity.

JCI Akure  appreciate his doggedness and determination. We use this privilege to name him after a yearly project that will be unveiled at the 40th anniversary of his Noble organisation which he chartered in his life.

On behalf of Junior Chamber International {World Wide}, Junior Chamber International Nigeria and Junior Chamber International Akure, we pray that God Almighty will give us the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss.
