It was a gory sight at the popular Oja-Oba Market in Akure, as a truck  reportedly crushed a middle age man to death on Thursday evening.

The Hope Metro gathered that the accident occurred at about 6:45 pm around Post Office when the vehicle was coming from FUTA area on top speed crushed the deceased to death.

An eyewitness account said the unidentified victim was crossing the road from Post office area to the other side when the truck hit him.

It was gathered that immediately the incident happened, the driver of the vehicle ran to the nearest police station to report himself.

The Hope Metro learnt that the corpse of the deceased who hailed from Gombe State was immediately evacuated by his Muslim family for burial.
