Truck crushes motorcyclist in Ore

Pandemonium broke out on Sunday in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, after a truck crushed a yet-to be identified motorcyclist and left him half dead.

The accident which involved a truck marked DTR296XA and a motorcycle, occurred along Ore-Okitipupa road and  caused gridlock within the area.

An eyewitness who spoke with our correspondent said the accident was caused as a result of impatience on the part of the truck driver.

“A traffic warder gave the green light to motorcyclists coming from reserve area to pass. All of a sudden, the truck driver who wasn’t given permission to go, suddenly hit the motorcycle and crushed the rider.

A police source who confirmed the incident with our correspondent said the motorcyclist have been rushed a private hospital for treatment.

He said the police in Ore Division have arrested the truck driver.

Our correspondent who visited the scene gathered that the security agents were fully on ground to maintain peace in the area.
