Tragedy struck in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo, as a truck crushed a yet-to-be-identified motorcyclist on Saturday evening.

The incident, which involved a motorcycle and a truck with number plate FKJ554YJ, happened at Idi Mango area and caused traffic congestion as commuters sympathized with the victim, whose leg was completely damaged.

According to reports, the motorcyclist, who was also a farmer, was coming from his farm and plying the route to Idi Mango area when the truck, coming from Okitipupa route at high speed, crushed him.

Some residents who spoke with our correspondent expressed displeasure over drivers’ carelessness while driving and sought government intervention to put a stop to accidents in the area.

“We need about three speed limits at this junction here at Idi Mango junction to curtail the accidents along the route,” one resident said.

Our correspondent, who visited the scene, gathered that the victim has been taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.
