Truck kills 2 in Okitipupa

Two persons have been reportedly crushed to death by a truck in Iju Odo community, Okitipupa Local Government area of Ondo State.
One of the deceases identified as Eniafe Iwaeni, and another woman whose identity was yet to be ascertained at press time were on a bike heading towards Igbotako Osooro before they met their untimely death by the ill-fated truck coming from Igbotako axis of the Igbotako – Ilu-Titun expressway.
Iwaeni, was a member of Football Association and Young Shall Grow FC of Ilu-Titun before his death on Sunday.
It was gathered that the driver of the white coloured truck identified as Dare Arowojolu, who was unlicensed, drove the vehicle without the consent of his father, after his father had gone to the church, however, escaped from the scene.
When the Hope Metro visited the scene, an angry mob had destroyed Dare’s father’s house and vehicle.
Efforts to speak with the Divisional Police Officer in Igbotako proved abortive as he was not on sit. While the number plate of the truck had been removed.
Meanwhile, the victims’ remains had been deposited at the morgue.
