Two arrested over alleged robbery

Operatives of the Ekiti Police Command have arrested two men, Adebayo Asebusuyi, 29, and Taiwo Oguntuase, 25, over alleged conspiracy and armed robbery.
Parading the suspects at the office of the command in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state capital, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Amba Azukwo, said the suspects were arrested on April 26, 2019, by men of the Special Ant-robbery Squad (SARS) attached to the command.
He explained that the police apprehended the suspects, following a distress call from the residents of the former Deputy Governor of the state, Mr. Paul Olatunji Alabi.
The Commissioner added that one of the suspects was arrested at the scene of the crime, while other members of the group disappeared upon the arrival of the police in the area.
The police boss stated that upon investigation the arrested suspect made confessional statements to the commission of the of the crime and indicted other members of his gang.
Azukwo added that further investigation, on the matter lead to the arrest of one other suspect Oguntuase Taiwo at a major hideout along textile area, Ado-Ekiti.
According to the police, items recovered include, one double barrel gun, one pump action gun, one pistol loaded with three rounds of live ammunition and two single barrel guns.
The police boss said they will soon be arraigned in the court as soon as investigation is completed on the matter.
