Two people yesterday escaped death by whiskers in a road accident involving two private cars, the two were at Ijapo First gate along Reuben Fasoranti road In Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The accident, which occurred around 2pm involved blue Toyota Corolla with number plate KJA 536 EY and a black Ford Landed space bus with number plate EKY 717 CH
An eye witness account said the driver of the Toyota Corolla car, while driving out of Ijapo Estate first gate was on top speed.
He was said to have hit the back of the Ford Landed bus, coming from Agbogbo axis, which made two of his tyres to burst.
Meanwhile, the two occupants of the car reportedly sustained injuries, but the driver of the ford car, with his wife and daughter had no injuries
Speaking with our correspondent, the driver of the Toyota Corolla, Mr. Mustafa Yusuf, whose lips were injured, said he could not explain how the accident happened.
According to him, he suddenly found himself swerving and later faced the direction of the oncoming vehicles.
