Two die in Osun auto crash

Two people have reportedly died in an accident that occurred opposite the Mobil filling station Ogo Oluwa area of Osogbo,the Osun State capital.

The crash involved a Toyota Rav4 Jeep with number plate Abuja KUJ 417 DH , driven by one Dauda Tewogbade and a Bajaj motorcycle with number plate. Osun SUB 708 UH, whose identity was yet unknown.

Eyewitness account revealed that the driver of the jeep, who was coming from Olaiya area, and heading towards Abere, on getting to opposite Mobile filling station, hit the motorcyclist who allegedly rode against traffic rules.

Narrating the incident in a release, the Police Public Relations Officer, Osun State Command, SP Yemisi Opalola, said: “The rider of the motorcycle and his passenger died on the spot.

 “But the driver of the Rav 4 jeep and his friend sustained injuries and were rushed to UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, in Osogbo, for treatment while the corpses of the deceased were deposited at the morgue of same hospital.”

She said autopsy would be conducted while investigation is in progress.
