Two drivers were seriously injured in a ghastly road accident along Oba Ile-airport road, leaving their occupants injured.
The accident involved a red Toyota Camry Jeep with number plate Lagos ARR 577 SD and a commercial cab.
The Hope Metro gathered that the red Camry, which belongs to Firstly Fist Farm opposite High Court, Akure was carrying a full load of fertilizer on top speed when the front tyre suddenly removed on motion .
Consequently, the vehicle reportedly sommersaulted thrice, landing at the other side of the road, as it collided with an oncoming vehicle pushing it into a ditch.
It was also learnt that some good Samaritans, who rushed to the scene rescued the injured taxi driver and his passenger out of the ditch.
Speaking with the taxi driver, who preferred anonymity, said, “I am still in shock. I woke up this morning at 7 am, which was very unusual. And I found myself singing and praising God until I started my daily work.
“Unexpectedly, I saw the vehicle from the other side of the road somersaulting to our direction. “Despite the fact that I tried to dodge the car, it still hit my vehicle and I suddenly found myself in the ditch.
The injured drivers were immediately rushed to the State Specialist Hospital, in Akure, for treatment by men of the Federal Road Safety Commission and other rescue workers that were at the scene.
