A commercial motorcyclist and a septuagenarian passenger escaped death by a whisker in an accident which occurred at Oshinle area in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Hope Metro gathered that the Okada rider and his passenger were riding along Oshinle road around FCMB Bank area, when a blue Camry vehicle on top speed suddenly rammed into the motorcycle from the rear, pushing them off the road.
It was also gathered that the passenger, a woman, jumped off the bike into another vehicle through the rear wind screen, while the rider slid under the vehicle.
An eyewitness account that the blue Camry car was on top speed as the driver who was reported to be tipsy, lost control, while the somersaulted and landed on the other side of the road.
Mother luck, however, ran on the driver of the Camry car with number plate Ondo AKR 880 MS, who had no scratch on his body.
It was also gathered that the old woman and the Okada rider whose identities were not known, were rushed to UNIMED Hospital by good Samaritans.
The incident was reported at the ‘B’ Division police station after which officers responded swiftly and towed the affected vehicle and motorcycle away.
