Two kidnapped Ondo residents regain freedom

By Adeboye Ado

Two individuals who were kidnapped in Upenmen, Owo, Ondo State, shortly after the killing of a man identified as Oluwaseun by suspected gunmen, have regained their freedom.

The victims, identified as Sunday Oloye and his friend (whose name was not disclosed), were released yesterday. However, it remains unclear whether a ransom was paid for their release.

A source who spoke with The Hope confirmed that the duo had returned home but expressed concern over the rising cases of kidnapping, which have forced many residents to flee the community.

“This has been happening repeatedly without a solution. Sadly, after the last incident, security operatives came, but we have not seen them since,” the source, who requested anonymity, said.

Efforts to reach the victims and the police for comments were unsuccessful.
