Two people have reportedly lost their lives, while six others sustained injuries during a clash between two political parties in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The Hope Metro gathered that the two political parties,  the All Progress Congress (APC) and ADC, had a rancour over territorial grounds of campaign  during their campaign at Elegbeka village via Ifon, Ose Local Government Area.

It was further gathered that  the fight was on going, when  a Dyna  mini van conveying market women from  the market  Ifon market day that that brings in people from different communities had a headache on collision with a another up coming vehicle which made the driver to die on the spot.

An eye witness account said,  “Two people were rushed to  the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, while the other people sitting in front with the driver,  sustained broken legs and have been  taken to a native  bone doctor. The others were taken to a nearby hospital and they are currently receiving treatment.

The Hope Metro spoke with one of  the victims of the clash, Mr Samuel Ojo, who claimed to have sustained multiple injuries.

Narrating his ordeal, he said, “As the ADC people were performing their peaceful campaign in Elegbeka, we did not bother about anything, because they were familiar faces in our community.

“By the time we got to the outskirt of Ifon town, we saw Adelegbe’s boys blocking our way. They were holding broken bottles and cutlasses in their hands. Before we knew it, they  attacked us.

It was while I was trying to run from the venue that they held me. All I was hearing was the shouting,”ADC lo wa” as the sharp pain pierced my body with  blood gushing out from the matchet injuries. I managed to escape for my life.”
